My Book is Here!
I began this book as a blog post. Some of you may have read it, “10 Tips for the Cancer Patient” which I published in July of 2014 after going through a stunning diagnosis, super harsh chemo and a stem cell transplant. I thought at the time that I might expand the blog post and give it away as a free e-book on my website. It grew and eventually became the rough draft of a short book. I got some editing advice from a good friend and expanded it further, finally deciding to self publish through a hybrid publishing house called Balboa Press, a division of Hay House Publishing. Now just short of two years later, the book is available to the public.
My intention in writing this book was to share my personal journey and all that I learned along the way. Some lessons were unique to me and my life but many I felt were universal truths to more health and happiness. I learned a lot about how the immune system works as well as how to stay strong physically and emotionally through the toughest situations. I cite studies and teach readers about nutrition, meditation, everyday chemical exposure and the power of positive thinking.
Although rich in content, this book is intentionally broken into very short chapters which, at least for me when I was a cancer patient, was about all I could handle. My hope is that this book is helpful to patients and their loved ones as well as doctors, nurses and those who care for cancer patients.
